Goodbye Suite 101: Channel Editing Fiasco

Well my friends, after six years with Suite I'm calling it quits. I've decided the site isn't going anywhere I want to go, so I sent a message to Jennifer Croll. I asked for my 314 articles to be removed. It makes me sad, but it needed to be done.

What prompted me to end it is the new policy change on editing. Anyone who contributes to your channel will be able to edit your articles. Since channels are a big part of the new Suite, you need to contribute to channels to get a bigger score, which gives you more of a share of the pot. I don't want others to edit my articles unless they are qualified.
Other writers over at Suite seem to be upset about this change, too. You can follow the thread on the Suite forums here: Editing privileges within channels!

How about you? What do you guys think of this change?

  1. Since it looks like no one else has answred, I think they completely ruined something that used to be pretty great, and it took them over a year to figure out how to do it.

They should have at least been honest and told writers they weren't going to be a writing site anymore. But then, they still really haven't said exactly what they think they are, have they? - not an online magazine, kind of like a wiki but not exactly, and they don't really want legacy articles in channels but legacy articles add to engagement scores? What?
