Today, Suite released an announcement about the changes that are coming to the site. In November of 2012, Suite unveiled a new platform that used "channels" and a reward system that no one could figure out.
Well, just a few short months later, they have ditched both the channels and any payment system. Yup, from now on they expect people to write on their site for free. Hardly anyone was writing for the site when there was still a little revenue, and now they think people are going to write there for free? Amazing.
Members will still get paid for old content, but no one knows what this payment system will be. It sounds like Suite has gone from rock bottom to the basement.
Update: Here is a post from the comments section on the Suite announcement. It is from Suite's leader, Michael Kedda:

Hi Larry – yes, we will keep paying writers for the work they have already contributed. We will stop publishing articles, but we will not be deleting them, and so long as they generate revenue we'll share money with their authors. We're committed to this fully.
I realize "articles" is a fine distinction for some but here's what we mean: we're ceasing to be an outlet for freelancers to write articles on things they know about for a share of revenue earned. Instead, we're creating a knowledge base built around personal experiences – a concept we really believe in. Same purpose, but without the stuff that just doesn't fit! Thanks,
Michael
